Selfapy GmbH
Selfapy GmbH is a digital health company based in Berlin. Since the Digital Healthcare Act (DVG) came into force, Selfapy has successfully launched five DiGA, all part of the CE-certified medical device and available free of charge on prescription. More than 40,000 users have already completed the digital programmes, and their effectiveness has been demonstrated in studies. Under the leadership of Adham Kassab (CEO), the company and its 50 employees are committed to raising public awareness of the effectiveness of digital medical devices for mental health.
Selfapy supports people with mental illness by addressing the gap in psychotherapeutic care: its online courses digitalise indication-specific behavioural therapy based on established manuals and are accompanied by personal psychologists. This makes the intervention flexible in terms of place and time and accessible to everyone in need as a statutory health insurance (GKV) benefit. Selfapy is also committed to raising awareness of mental health and helping to destigmatise mental illness.
Selfapy was founded in 2016 and initially worked on the basis of selective contracts with established German health insurers. Since the Digital Healthcare Act was passed, more and more Selfapy online courses have been listed as digital health applications and can be prescribed as a GKV benefit outside the budget. * Current number of digital health applications: 5 * Current number of RCTs: 5 completed, 1 ongoing * CE certification, already four permanent listings in the BfArM DiGA directory * Advised by an expert advisory board with representatives from various sectors of the healthcare system
