ResMed is a pioneer in developing innovative digital solutions for sleep and respiratory therapy, particularly in out-of-hospital settings. Headquartered in San Diego, CA, the company enables patients with chronic diseases in more than 140 countries worldwide to live better lives outside hospital. In Germany, the company employs more than 750 people, more than 500 of whom work at ResMed Healthcare, ResMed's homecare company. It provides sleep and ventilation therapy to more than 250,000 patients across Germany through a network of service branches and direct care at home. ResMed's innovative therapy devices, distributed by ResMed Deutschland through qualified specialist retailers to institutions and patients, enable efficient, clinically high-quality care for people with sleep-disordered breathing, COPD and other chronic respiratory diseases. Cloud-based software solutions help doctors, healthcare professionals and nursing staff care for patients more efficiently at home or in a care facility. This enables better, more cost-efficient healthcare while maintaining a higher quality of life for patients and ensuring better integration into everyday clinical practice.
ResMed meets current and future challenges in patient care with digital solutions that make healthcare faster, more effective and more efficient. These include AirView: a digital management system for patients receiving home mechanical ventilation or with sleep-disordered breathing. AirView offers remote patient monitoring, error analysis and data management. Detailed data insights enable doctors and healthcare professionals to make informed decisions and respond quickly to their patients' needs. Everyone involved in patient care can access the same data simultaneously via AirView. This promotes interdisciplinary coordination and optimises the quality of care, improving patient comfort and adherence in the long term. All of this takes place in compliance with statutory data protection regulations and only with the patient's consent. Digital solutions with the highest level of data protection thanks to dual certification: privacy and data protection are central to ResMed's telemonitoring applications. The ISO 27001 certification of the AirView telemonitoring platform as part of HDS (Health Data Hosting) certification confirms our focus on information security.
myAir is the digital solution for patients receiving therapy for sleep-disordered breathing (AirSense™ 10 or AirCurve™ 10 devices). It enables them to contribute actively to the success of their therapy. With the user-friendly application, patients can track their own nightly sleep data and receive feedback on their personal therapy progress after every night of therapy, for an optimal overview. myAir offers interactive coaching designed to motivate patients to continue therapy, which can have a decisive effect on long-term adherence. By involving patients more closely, myAir can also help reduce therapy-related queries and enable more efficient care in sleep therapy overall. The ResMed myAir app received the PneumoDigital seal in 2019. In addition, the quality and trustworthiness of the myAir app were confirmed by the alliance of Deutsche Atemwegsliga e.V., Deutsche Patientenliga Atemwegserkrankungen e.V. and Alpha1 Deutschland e.V.
