Oviva helps people change their diet and habits for the long term, with an intuitive app and personal counselling.
Oviva was founded in 2014 by a multidisciplinary team of experts from the medical and technology sectors. Half of Europe's population is overweight and therefore at higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The three founders, Kai Eberhardt (CEO), Manuel Baumann (CTO) and Mark Jenkins (UK Managing & Medical Director), recognised that despite this situation there were no individual, effective long-term treatment options. They found the solution in combining personal counselling with a smart app in which people record information such as meals, physical activity or weight. The app also enables regular exchange with a dietitian via chat and provides Oviva users with helpful learning content. In the long term, Oviva helps people lead healthier lives, relieves healthcare professionals of questions about weight and lifestyle and generates savings in the healthcare system. Oviva works directly with statutory health insurers and national health systems and operates in Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom and France.
