HelloBetter by GET.ON Institut für Online Gesundheitstrainings GmbH
HelloBetter is one of the leading providers of digital health applications in the field of mental health conditions. The company was founded in 2015 and has conducted 30 RCTs.
HelloBetter offers various psychological online therapy programmes approved by the BfArM as digital health applications (DiGA). The programmes are aimed at people with mental health complaints such as stress and burnout, chronic pain or diabetes and depression, and can be prescribed. They give those affected access to effective psychological help right away, without a long wait for a therapy place. Based on the methods of cognitive behavioural therapy, the online programmes convey psychoeducational content and effective strategies for coping with mental health complaints in interactive units lasting 45 to 60 minutes each. These include behavioural activation, problem-solving techniques, strategies for dealing with unpleasant feelings and guidance on self-reflection. The content is delivered interactively via video, audio or text and is tailored to the specific needs of those affected. HelloBetter places great emphasis on participant safety in all its services. All participants therefore receive written feedback from a personally assigned HelloBetter psychologist within 24 hours on working days after completing each course unit.
Exercises: A range of practical exercises encourages participants to reflect on their own situation, try out changes in thinking and behaviour and transfer what they have learned into everyday life.
Online diary: Participants keep a digital diary to learn to observe their own well-being more closely and to understand how behaviour, stress and mood influence each other. Further entries: During the course, participants are encouraged, for example, to reflect on their personal situation and goals and to change their behaviour in line with them. These insights remain accessible to participants at all times, so that each participant's personal development is at the centre of the course. Example characters: Fictional characters who serve as role models accompany participants through the course. They help with the exercises and share their experiences, obstacles and progress with the exercises in relation to depressive symptoms and diabetes. Interim evaluation: Symptom checks using validated questionnaires are carried out at regular intervals, allowing participants to track the course of their symptoms and their therapy progress. Feedback: After each unit, a trained HelloBetter psychologist provides written feedback within 2 working days to safeguard patient safety and intended use. The feedback is intended for the participant personally. Mobile companion app: An optional companion app allows participants to use some course features on the go, such as planning daily activities, keeping the online diary or completing interim evaluations. Via push notifications, participants can receive motivational messages and short exercises that help them apply the course content in everyday life.
